Overview

ALG Sea Freight & Containers provides economical transportation for larger, heavier and planned shipments where cost efficiency is more important than speed. We coordinate containerized cargo from international suppliers through the appropriate seaport and onward transportation into Nepal, offering solutions such as Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL). For Nepal-bound cargo, sea freight typically requires an additional inland transportation leg because Nepal is landlocked.

Service Objective : Move larger volumes at a practical and cost-efficient freight cost.
Sea Freight & Containers

Sea freight is generally the preferred option for businesses moving substantial quantities of goods that do not require urgent delivery. ALG coordinates the shipment from the supplier through the ocean freight stage and onward inland movement toward Nepal.

Depending on cargo volume and requirements, shipments can be arranged as FCL, where the container is dedicated to one shipment, or LCL, where smaller shipments share container space with other cargo. ALG can coordinate the associated freight, documentation, origin handling and onward transportation so that the ocean leg becomes part of a complete logistics route rather than a disconnected shipment.

FAQs about Sea Freight & Containers

FCL means the container is allocated to a single shipment, while LCL allows smaller shipments to share container space with cargo from other customers.

Yes. Sea freight can be a cost-effective option for larger China-to-Nepal shipments, particularly when delivery is not urgent. Because Nepal is landlocked, the cargo requires inland transportation after the sea leg.

FCL generally becomes more attractive when your shipment is large enough to justify a dedicated container or when you want greater control over the containerized cargo.

Yes. Inland transportation can be coordinated as part of the overall shipment, allowing the sea freight and land movement to be managed as one logistics plan.

Not by default. Customs clearance can be added as a separate service, while duties, VAT and other government charges remain payable according to the applicable import requirements.
